Atenolan^® comp.

Atenolan^® comp. contain the two active substances atenolol and chlortalidone, both of which lower blood pressure in different ways. 

Atenolol belongs to the group of medicines called beta-receptor blockers and has a stress-shielding effect on the heart. This improves the work of the heart and lowers blood pressure.

Chlortalidone belongs to the group of medicines called sulfonamide diuretics (diuretic medicines). It increases the excretion of fluid through the urine and thus lowers blood pressure.

Atenolan^® comp. is used to treat high blood pressure in adults when blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled with one active substance (atenolol or chlortalidone) alone.
