Mutan^®

Mutan^® contains the active substance fluoxetine.

Fluoxetine belongs to the group of medicines called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which are antidepressants.

Mutan^® is used to treat the following conditions:

Adults

• Episodes of major depression
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Bulimia nervosa: Mutan^® is only indicated as an adjunct to psychotherapy to reduce binge eating and self-induced vomiting.

Children and adolescents, 8 years old and older

• Moderate to severe episodes of major depression if the depression does not respond to psychological treatment after 4-6 sessions.

An antidepressant medicine should be given to a child or young person with moderate to severe depression only in conjunction with concurrent psychological treatment.
