Anaerobex^®

Anaerobex^® contains the active substance metronidazole.

Anaerobex^® has a germicidal effect on certain pathogens (trichomonads, Gardnerella vaginalis, Giardia lambila, amoebae and so-called anaerobic bacteria). 

Anaerobex^® film-coated tablets are prescribed to adults, children and adolescents:

• for infections with metronidazole-sensitive pathogens: brain abscess, lung abscess, septicaemia (depending on the type of primary infection and sensitivity of the pathogens), septic abortion, endocarditis (caused by Bacteroides species), acute necrotising gingivitis (Plaut-Vincent angina), perityphlitic and other intra-abdominal abscesses, after laparotomy.
• for the targeted prophylaxis of anaerobic infections in gastrointestinal surgery and gynaecology.
• Metronidazole is suitable for the treatment of non-specific vaginitis caused by Gardnerella vaginalis (“amine colpitis”).
• for the treatment of infections with Helicobacter pylori (gastritis, ulcus ventriculi, ulcus duodeni).

National and international recommendations for the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents must be taken into account when using metronidazole
