Androfin^®

Androfin^® contains the active substance finasteride.

Finasteride belongs to a group of medicines called 5-alpha-reductase blockers. Finasteride prevents the formation of dihydrotestosterone in the prostate gland, a hormone that plays an important role in the enlargement of the gland.

Androfin^® is given to adults for the:

• Treatment and control of benign enlargement of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) to cause regression of the enlarged prostate, improvement of urinary flow and improvement of symptoms associated with benign prostatic enlargement.
• To reduce the incidence of sudden blockage of urinary flow and the need for surgical intervention.
