Apremilast G.L.

Apremilast G.L. contains the active substance apremilast. It belongs to the group of phosphodiesterase‑4 inhibitors, a class of medicinal products with anti‑inflammatory properties.

It is used for the treatment of adults with the following conditions:

• Active psoriatic arthritis – when another type of medicine known as a “disease‑modifying antirheumatic drug” (DMARD) cannot be used or when previous treatment with such a medicine has been unsuccessful.
• Moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis – when one of the following treatment options cannot be used or when previous treatment with one of these options has been unsuccessful:

– Phototherapy, in which specific areas of skin are exposed to ultraviolet light

– Systemic therapy, which affects the entire body rather than only a specific affected area; examples include ciclosporin, methotrexate, or psoralen.

• Behçet’s syndrome (BS) – for the treatment of oral ulcers, a common problem in individuals affected by this disease.
