Candeblo^® Amlo

Candeblo^® Amlo contains the two active substances amlodipine and candesartan cilexetil.
Both active substances help control high blood pressure.

• Amlodipine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. They work by stopping calcium from penetrating the vascular walls, which prevents the constriction of the blood vessels.
• Candesartan belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Angiotensin II is produced by the body and causes the blood vessels to constrict, which increases blood pressure. Candesartan works by blocking the effect of angiotensin II.

This means that both active substances have the effect of stopping the constriction of blood vessels. This relaxes the blood vessels and reduces blood pressure. Candeblo^® Amlo is used to treat high blood pressure in patients already taking candesartan cilexetil and amlodipine at the same dose and allows this combination of active substances to be taken in only one tablet.
