Dasatinib G.L. contains the active substance dasatinib.
This medicine is used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in adults, adolescents and children at least 1 year of age. Leukemia is a cancer of white blood cells. These white blood cells usually help the body to fight infection. In people with chronic myeloid leukemia, white blood cells, also called granulocytes, start growing out of control. Dasatinib G.L. inhibits the growth of these leukemic cells.
Dasatinib G.L. is also used to treat Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adults, adolescents and children at least 1 year of age. It is also used in adults with CML in lymphoid blast crisis phase who are not benefiting from prior therapies. In patients with ALL, white blood cells, which are also called lymphocytes, multiply too quickly and live too long. Dasatinib G.L. inhibits the growth of these leukemic cells.
