Dutaglandin^® comp.

Dutaglandin^® comp. contains the active substances dutasteride and tamsulosin.

Dutasteride belongs to the group of 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors and tamsulosin to the group of alpha-blockers.

Dutasteride lowers the production of the hormone dihydrotestosterone and thus helps to reduce the size of the prostate and relieve symptoms. It significantly reduces the risk of acute urinary retention and surgical intervention.

Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles of the prostate gland, thereby facilitating the flow of urine and leading to a rapid improvement in symptoms.

Dutaglandin^® comp. is used to treat men with enlarged prostates (benign prostatic hyperplasia) if they are already being treated with tamsulosin and dutasteride at the same time. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland caused by an increased production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone.
