Ezerosu®

Ezerosu®

Ezerosu® contains two different active ingredients in one film-coated tablet. One of the active ingredients is rosuvastatin, which belongs to the group of so-called statins, and the other active ingredient is ezetimibe.

Ezerosu® is a medicine used in adult patients to lower the levels of total cholesterol, “bad” cholesterol (LDL cholesterol) and fat-like substances called triglycerides in your blood. It also raises the level of “good” cholesterol (HDL cholesterol). This medicine lowers LDL cholesterol levels through two mechanisms of action: it reduces the absorption of cholesterol from the digestive tract, as well as the body’s own cholesterol.

Most people are not affected by high cholesterol because it does not cause any noticeable discomfort. However, if left untreated, fatty deposits can form on the walls of blood vessels, causing them to narrow.

Sometimes these narrowed blood vessels can become blocked, cutting off the blood supply to the heart or brain and leading to a heart attack or stroke. Lowering cholesterol levels can reduce the risk of a heart attack, stroke or related health problems.

Ezerosu® is used in patients whose cholesterol levels cannot be controlled by a cholesterol-lowering diet alone. Patients should continue their cholesterol-lowering diet while taking this medicine. A doctor may prescribe Ezerosu® if patients are already taking rosuvastatin and ezetimibe at the same dose.

Ezerosu® does not help to lose body weight.
