Fenolip^® retard

Fenolip^® retard contains the active substance fenofibrate.

Fenolip^® retard belongs to the so-called fibrates, a group of medicines used to lower blood fat levels (lipids). One of these lipids is triglycerides.

Fenolip^® retard is used in adults.

Fenolip^® retard is indicated as a supportive treatment alongside diet or other non-drug therapies (e.g. exercise, weight loss) for the following conditions:

• severe hypertriglyceridaemia with or without low HDL cholesterol levels,
• mixed hyperlipidaemia when a statin is contraindicated or not tolerated,
• in mixed hyperlipidaemia in patients at high cardiovascular risk in addition to a statin if triglyceride and HDL cholesterol levels cannot be adequately controlled.
