Jansitin^®

Jansitin^® contains the active substance sitagliptin and is member of a class of medicinal products that are taken for diabetes. This class of medicinal products is called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors and are used for blood glucose regulation in diabetic adult patients with type 2 diabetes.

This medicinal product helps elevate the insulin level generated after a meal and reduces the amount of glucose produced by the body. The doctor prescribes this medicinal product for blood glucose reduction because the blood glucose level is too high due to type 2 diabetes. This medicinal product can be used alone or in combination with certain other medicinal products to reduce blood glucose (insulin, metformin, sulphonylureas or glitazones), which patients may already receive to treat their diabetes. Patients should also follow the diet and exercise program agreed upon with their doctors.
