Methasan® contains the active substance methadone.
Methasan® is used for oral maintenance treatment of opioid dependence (substitution treatment) in adults. Methasan® suppresses withdrawal symptoms after cessation of opioid abuse and craving for opioids (craving).
Oral opioid substitution treatment is given with appropriate medical supervision and comprehensive psychosocial support.
Dosage:
The dosage of Methasan® is based on the occurrence of withdrawal symptoms and must be adjusted for each patient according to their individual situation and personal feelings. In general, once the dose has been adjusted, the lowest possible maintenance dose should be aimed for.
Methadone hydrochloride has a duration of action of at least 24 hours and should be taken at exactly the same time every day (with or without food).
