Panchol®

Panchol® contains the active substance pravastatin.

Panchol® belongs to the group of so-called statins and is a cholesterol synthesis inhibitor (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). Panchol® lowers elevated cholesterol and other blood lipid levels, thereby reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke and the frequency of cardiovascular events.

Hypercholesterolaemia

Treatment of primary hypercholesterolaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia, in addition to diet, when response to diet and other non-pharmacological measures (e.g. exercise, weight loss) is inadequate.

Primary prevention

Reduction of cardiovascular mortality and morbidity in addition to diet in patients with moderate or severe hypercholesterolaemia and a high risk of a first cardiovascular event.

Secondary prevention

Reduction of cardiovascular mortality and morbidity in patients with a history of myocardial infarction or unstable angina and either normal or elevated cholesterol levels (in addition to correction of other risk factors).

Post-transplant

Reduction of post-transplant hyperlipidaemia in patients receiving immunosuppressive therapy after organ transplantation.
