Xiclav® contains the active substances amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
Xiclav® is an antibiotic and works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Amoxicillin belongs to a group of medicines called “penicillins” which can sometimes become ineffective (inactive). The second active ingredient, clavulanic acid, prevents this.
Xiclav® is indicated for the treatment of the following infections:
Children aged 6 years or younger should preferably be treated with Xiclav® powder for syrup.
